"Nothing tastes as good as slim feels!"

My good friend told me this and it has really helped!

09/02/08 - 151, ugh! Well, it's only 6 pounds, it will come back off!

07/30/08 - 145 YAHOO!!

06/26/08 - 148, ugh, up 3 pounds but I just started The 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels (instead of my Slim in 6). WOW, talk about an intense workout!

05/30/08 - 145! YAHOO!! Up 7 pounds from December but after the past few months I am impressed I didn't gain 40!!

12/29/07 - When I started this particular journey, I was 187 pounds and had a BMI of 31.1 and was obese. I am now 138 pounds and have a BMI of 23! I am within normal range again! Thank you everyone for your support!

04/19/07 The start of the journey - I am a 33 year old single mother of 5, ages 8 to 18 and I am obese.

I never had problems with my weight until about 4 years ago. It started coming on and just didn't stop! I have yo-yo'ed long enough and it is time to get moving and get losing!

Originally from CA, but Seattle has been my home for 7 years and I miss it.

My husband I just returned from our honeymoon in Cabo and we gained. Of course. So now we get to buckle down and get serious. At least I do. He promised he will join me but I am not holding my breath.

I'm still around - just haven't had time to log in much lately. I am maintaining my weight loss which is good, and making plans to enter some competitive races. Here is the plan so far:

July 14th - local 5k run
Aug 1st - local mini triathlon (as part of a team)
Oct 11th - run Spokane half marathon

I'm finally kind of hooked on running. It's hard for me to do a workout without doing some kind of running/jogging. And I've recently discovered that I can sprint at speeds between 8 and 10 mph for about 30 to 45 seconds at a time! I'm even working on getting together three friends to do a marathon relay with me in the future.

It's amazing how much we can change when we try... :)

I am not new to the whole fitness and weight loss gig. In the past year, I've lost about 20 pounds by incorporating exercise into my life. It definitely has not been easy, especially for me, whose body just clings to fat. Add to that, the fact that I love being lazy and eating, and hate to workout, and that adds up to quite the inner and outer struggle. Last summer, I joined a 'bootcamp' that quite literally kicked butt. I joined with a friend, which helped keep me accountable and motivated me to give my all three days a week. But come fall, bootcamp ended and I slipped back into my lazy, no exercise ways. Although I haven't gained too much back, I can definitely tell a difference in my body as it keeps getting chubbier and chubbier. So I know that I need to get back to working out, especially if I want to continue to with my weight loss. I still have a lot to lose, probably about another 30 or more pounds. My body fat percentage is also way too high for my comfort.
