how do you post a picture on this thing in the typing area?

Just above the box where you type are several boxes (B, I, U, etc.)

Clicking on the box with the circle, square, and triangle prompts for a URL where you can link to a picture.

Hope that helps

I'm pulling for you to be that 200 lb. groom!

The ease with which one's wedding band slips on and off is a good indicator of "comfortable weight"

My weight is getting back to that wedding day 20 years ago and, wow, does it feel good to be able to move the ring!

You've made some great progress toward your goal so keep at it!

I know anytime I feel like falling prey to stress eating it takes some time to remember that it's not what I'm eating - it's what's eating me

It helps to remember, too, that I didn't get this big overnight so I ain't gonna get to that ideal weight overnight either. Having friends like all of you who post so honestly is a big help! Thanks for being there!

Oh, indeed!

Part of the key is to look at it as adding a good habit in place of a 'not-so-good' habit. Give it 30 days and you're hooked (so to speak <g>).

Reference for this statement?

One reference is from this site.

Also, Harvey Diamond's Fit for Life mentions it on pages 52, 54, 58, and 181. I imagine there's a copy in your local library.

Thanks for asking

[Proper food combination goes a long way to eliminating the toxins we've built up over the years, one reason fruit and fruit juice is so, uh, "moving" when eaten after a meal.]

FWIW, whenever a carbohydrate is mixed with a protein in the stomach, the food rots.

I think a healthier approach is either to have a carbohydrate with veggies or have a protein with veggies.

Hey, Sandra...I know how you feel - ugh

My user manual reads:

Hydration levels in the body may affect body fat readings. Readings are usually highest in the early waking hours, since the body tends to be dehydrated after a long night's sleep. For the most accurate reading, one should take a body fat percentage reading at a consistent time of day under consistent conditions...

In other words, see if you have a percentage loss over an extended period of time rather than look at the actual percentage.

Hope that helps.

You bet, Joel!

Yeah, try it for a week and see what happens.

Say, I started at Featherstone Elementary back in '71 and then transferred to Belmont Elementary thru 3rd grade. We lost our home to Marumsco Creek and Hurricane Agnes.

Small world, but I still wouldn't wanna paint it <g>.

There's a section on his page about a book called "Fit For Life" and "food combining" intrigued me, anybody else tried this or heard anything about it?

Jack, I started following the "lifestyle of healthy eating" outlined by Harvey Diamond in his Fit for Life book and went from 260 to under 200 in about a year.

Most of it stayed off except when I went back to my old ways; however, once I got back on track, I felt a lot better. Sure felt good to go from a tight 36 to a loose 34 (hoping to one day fit back in a size 32 pair of jeans).

I know how you feel J G. I felt the same way about diets until I found out there "just like religions" (a whole bunch and none of 'em work); however, a lifestyle does work!

The Fit for Life method has worked well for me, and I never feel deprived and, hallelujah, I don't even know how to count calories <g>.

The Creator made the day into three eight-hour cycles, and I follow that pattern:

* 12-8pm = consumption

Time to eat! Load up on leafy salads, fresh vegetables, and one 'complicated' food (not a water based vegetable).

* 8pm-4am = digestion

Ideally, our last bite should be at 5pm to give our stomach ~3hrs to empty so our digestive system can get its eight hours of work in

* 4am-noon = elimination

Time to detoxify all that stuff we ate and then digested, so flush it out with fresh fruit and/or fresh fruit juice. Why are people so tired in the morning after nearly eight hours of sleep? The body is still trying to digest all that late night intake.

Feel free to adjust the time if your work schedule dictates and, as always, your mileage may vary (YMMV)

Hi, thanks for the reply. Would you recommend this daily?

Sure, in addition to what you're already doing or in place of it every other day. I think adding variety to our exercise routines keeps us motivated, wouldn't you agree

>Does anyone do rebounding as a fitness workout? If so, have you found it useful?

= Yes, I do and I've found it to be quite rewarding.

FWIW, after stretching, I start my 60-min workout with alternating minutes of jumping jacks and jogging in place. I then jog in place for 4 minutes before another minute of jumping jacks.

I end with the same five-minute warm-up routine.

I'd eventually like to get back to an hour of walking and maybe alternate rebounding with walking - depending on the weather.
